FAQ ANSWERS

What does all of the product information listed mean? For each template offered you will find specific information listed below the template to help you decide which templates fit your needs and abilities. The following information is provided to explain what we mean for each template:

DESIGN DESCRIPTION: A short description of the template contents and possible use.

IMAGE NEEDED, A CUTOUT OR DROP IN: We offer two choices for templates; Cutout, where the image of the athlete must be cutout of the original photo and placed into our template or Drop In which means you can put the entire original photo in our design without cutting it out.

NUMBER OF IMAGES USED: How many images are needed for the particular design. Some templates need only one image and some may be able to hold more than one image.

IMAGE CONTROLS: This indicates if the template has image controls such as Hue/Saturation Layers to change background colors or other controls used to tailor your image look.

TYPE OF IMAGE: This tells you if you need a posed action image (you have the athlete play act a game pose) or if you can use a real action image from a game. Most of our templates can use either but some give better results with a particular image used.

What method have you used for most template designs? We use Adobe CS4 Master Collection to design our files. Primarily we use Photoshop CS4 for template design and development.

What software do I need to work with your templates? We recommend Adobe Photshop or Adobe Elements for template use. There is another source for photo editing and manipulation that is free and online. It's called GIMP. We haven't used it but it is reported to be a photoshop similar program. Do a Google search and you'll find it.

How many images are required for your templates? Each template requires at least one (1) image. Some templates may require or have the option of two or more images.

Can I add more images? Yes. You can add as many images as you think are necessary but remember, it takes time to cut images out for placement and time is money in our business. Be sparing in your use of mages. Some templates will lose their design effectiveness with multiple images.

Do you include fonts with your templates? Yes. We include the original design fonts free of cost to you. The fonts we use are gathered form free font sites and we do not charge for them.

Can I use different fonts? Yes. You may subsitute any font for one you like but remember that the design of a template and its font style was carefully thoughtout and any changes you make will impact the look of the finished product.

Can I edit the background images? No, we ask that you do not edit the background image. The image is very important to the look and feel of the finished product. If you tamper with or change this layer we cannot be held responsible for the final output and we will not be able to replace the file.

I've purchased a file, How do I install the fonts and file? First, unzip the file and open the folder. Do not open the template PSD file in your imaging software until you have accomplished the following: Take the font(s) included with the file and copy/paste them into the windows system Font Folder.

How do I find the font folder? To find the font folder:

  1. Go to "Computer", Select the "C Drive" (if this is where your operating system is located),
  2. Next select the "Windows folder", Then find and select the "Font folder".
  3. Copy and paste the font(s) into this font file folder and then close all folders.

Now you can open and use the font(s) provided with the file. NOTE: Depending on your system/computer you may have to restart your computer after installing the fonts.

What size are the template files? Our templates are designed on an 8"x12" layout at 300 DPI. This ensures that the finished product can print at any resolution from 4"x6" up to and including a 24"x36" photo poster. The actual uncompressed file size of our templates runs anywhere from 75mb to over 300mb in size due mainly to the added layers and adjustment layers added.

What size prints/posters can I order from a template? Our templates will handle any size print from a 4x5 up to a 24x36 but we recommend you used them for print sized larger than 8x12. The font graphics may be to small for the intended impact if you use prints smaller than 4x6.

How big are the template files? Anywhere from 75mb to over 300mb. You will need to make sure you have plenty of RAM setup in your computer to handle the larger files.

How long does it take to download a template file? That will depend on your local internet connection but you can expect that some of the larger files will take several minutes or more to download.

How long do I have to download a file once purchased? We allow you one (1) day to download your purchased file. If you run into a problem and can't accomplish the download in this timeframe drop us an email.

How many times can I download a file once purchased? You are allowed to download a purchased file one (1) time. Once you have downloaded the file a block is initiated so that multiple downloads by persons other than the purchaser cannot happen.

Are the template files copyrighted? Yes, the actual designs and content are copyrighted by SportsZoneTemples.com and we retain all rights to the designs.

My lab wants to use the file, can they? No. The files are sold to individual photographers only. We do not allow labs to use them unless they have a written agreement with SportsZoneTemplates.com. This is to protect the value of the products for the photographers who purchase or use our templates.

How often do you issue new designs? We are constantly working new design concepts. At any given time we have over 100 active designs in development and we try to publish a new style or design every month at the minimum. And Yes, we will work with any photographer who has an idea and wants to share it with us.

What is the Pro Service all about? The Pro Service is a project underway that will allow photographers who don't have the time or the experience to work up a file in photoshop. We'll take the order and work it up, print it and ship it to the photographers customer and it will look just like it came straight from the photographers business.

What is the Frequent Buyers Club? The FBC program is geared for the photographer who is a regular customer. We offer serious savings on future purchases for those who buy with us on a regular basis.

How can I receive notice of new designs? You can simply sign up for our news letter. We'll only send you information when new items come online and we will never sell or give away your personal information.
